God's judgment of our works is according to truth.  Perfect righteousness before God in Justification brings good works in the life of the believer by the fruits of the Spirit.  Paul is attempting to convice the Jews of this point that in of ourselves, we will not bear good works before God and therefore will be judged by God unrighteous, whether it's a Jew or Gentile.

Rich Joy in the lives of God's people is both ready and available by God's grace.  Given Paul's situation writing this beautiful letter to the Philippian churches - we see a formula for authentic Joy even if in the gravest of circumstances.

Just as Jesus charged the Jewish leaders for being the 'builders' from Psalm 118, who rejected the Stone, the same Stone who God has made the head of the corner, so has Peter in his reply to the council.  We continue to examine these 31 verses in Acts 4 and gain instruction of how, as God's people, we are to respond to persecution and bogus imprisonment declaring the gospel of Jesus Christ.

As Paul finishes Chapter 1 and begins Chapter 2, he tells the Jews, that God's judgments are according to truth.  If we are guilty of the very same sin we condemn in others and not worried about the wrath and judgement of God upon us for the same sin, then we must think very little of the longsuffering God is showing us.  This time of allowance (not permission) is to lead us to repentance, not self-deception.

Those who reject the gospel of Christ have no stomach for what it implies about them.  Those who receive the glorious gospel of Christ have a peace that passes all understanding whether in sickness, pain or even persecution.  The persecution of the early church and the account given of it helps us to learn what triggers persecution and how, as God's people, to react to it.

If you were interviewed by your loved ones' and asked to impart just one piece of advice, what would it be? Peter, Paul and Solomon, amongst others, before they died were sure to impart to the next generation the importance of loving and living by God's truth.

Sunday School Series of Romans Chapter one describes those who deny God openly, and chapter 2 describes religious people who deny Him inwardly. Paul addresses the Jews in this chapter specifically but we can also see this apply to any formal religion of works. Please join us as Pastor Jeffries continues in the Romans series.

After Peter confronted the hearers with their sin against God during the first part of his sermon, this second half he tells them to repent turning to God and with faith in Jesus Christ.

Jesus ask Philip a question;  how are we going to feed this multitude?  The teaching within John 6 is beautiful and layered in the fact that, what is impossible with man, is possible with God.  Whether God is leading us to impossible situations in our lives in order to trust in Him or the very saving our souls, we see that God's power is ever present.
